This antique Staffordshire lidded sugar bowl features a richly spattered green ground accented by a hand-painted peafowl motif executed in a lively folk-art style. The bird is outlined in fine black linework with contrasting blue, yellow, and green coloring, creating strong visual movement against the mottled glaze. The rounded bowl form and domed lid are characteristic of 19th-century English tableware, with visible handwork and glaze variation that reflect its period manufacture and long domestic use.
